I have to agree. I also think the same goes for the mountain bike race scene here in CO. Winterpark has fun courses but they have zero technical sections and I know they are looking for a large turnout but i really wish the courses were tougher (technically speaking). If you've ever done the Golden Gate Grind, you'll know exactly what I mean. The descent on the large loop is so hairy that it weeds out 90% of riders. I think its real mountain biking. I think they get maybe 15-20 riders per class because its just that tough. I'm still amazed at how fast people ride these courses but I would be more impressed if they did it that fast with difficult courses.
