Missed you up there yesterday Ron. We did the team event singlespeed style - which had me spent. Nice job finishing the race after that crash! There was definitely a good amount of carnage on the course yesterday.
And I thought I was the only one rallying the Redstone flag yesterday! I rode the much slower half of a sport duo team and realized exactly how slow I am.
I did fly the flag but not in Melis style. After my slide down the mountain, my der. arm bent leaving me with no granny gear. I kept accidently shifting up and the chain would get caught in between the spokes and the cassette. It happened like 6 times and it would take me forever to get it out.
If you remember the descent that takes you down to a paved road where you take a hard left (I believe it is blue mountain trail), the top of that descent is where I went tumbling. I turned on the jets and there were 3 riders in front of me and they slowed down. I went to the left in the scree and the guy in front of me cut me off and down I went. I slid down about 50 feet and didn't know if I would ever stop. I got up and couldn't find my bike. It had kept tumbling all the way down to the creek. It took me forever to climb out, I almost needed a rope. Fortunately I used my camelbak as my slide pad so I minimized the damage. The rest of the ride was survival and to finish.

Good job finishing that one, Ron. That's a tuffy. I was hoping for more spectacular carnage after a fall like that.
