Turner + DW Link = ????

Wow, Turner's completely changed their line. No more 4 bar, all new DW link bikes, across the board. I can't imagine a better riding bike than my Intense (ok, maybe the new Tracer), but the new 5 spot sure has my curiosity piqued.

How long before a demo, Dave?

Spots are destined for arrival shortly post Interbike (ie probably sometime in October). Other models will follow relatively soon after. They're not taking orders for them yet. I'll keep you posted.

I know I'm in the minority, but for some reason I'm just not that excited about the big lineup change. Of course, as they say the proof is in the pudding and I'll definitely be interested in testing out a DW-Link Sultan, but right now I'm a bit pessimistic about the change for some reason.

Sultan goes up to 4.7" of travel, so that's good.

RE the DW link, I dunno, guess we'll have to wait and see. A linkage rear end like that with DT's journal bearings and legendary stiffness can't not be good, eh? I love my Spot, but I'm eager to see the new renditions.

Yep, DT knows how to build a good bike so I really have no reason to question that this bike will be an improvement. Maybe its my wallet telling me they'll suck and that I should not even ride one...

Stay away Joel. Stay far away. :) heh heh. Love the 575.

the website renditions don't do the bikes justice in my opinion. There are some photos on mtbr and they look good. The round tubes are definitely cool over all the hydroformed stuff. There is pics of a raw sultan that is beautiful. The fact they got less conservative with geom and suspension and dw link which should help the bike feel better on the up. This all makes me want to give you a bunch of money to build me one- don't think I'll hold out for the intense 5.5 anymore. - Big D

I dug through several huge threads before finally finding the pic of the raw Sultan, so I thought I'd throw it up here to save anyone else the trouble.

I am going to vote with my checkbook this election by buying a Turner. Here are some Dave Turner interviews that makes me proud to be an American and treasure being a father.
