2011 Tomac Diplomat 29er Large for sale

It's that time of year when it comes for the shop to pare down its fleet of bikes. This Tomac Diplomat 29er has been very sweet, but it's time to move on.

This bike has maybe 300 miles on it. The only thing not new when we built this up was the crank and bb but we installed new chainrings to go with the rest of the new drivetrain.

Tomac Diplomat, $3100
*Large frame with a Fox RP23 rear shock
*SRAM X9 3x9
*Formula RX brakes
*handbuilt wheels on Mavic TN719 rims (Hope Pro2 Evo front, Am Classic rear)
*120mm Rock Shox Reba with 20mm thru axle
*Thomson post
*Race Face carbon Next bar and Deus stem
*Even the tires are in near new condition. This bike has been immaculately maintained during its short life span.

Tomac Flint 29er SS

New bike day is always a good day. Today I said goodbye to my old friend, the GT Peace 9er. It was steel, real, heavy, and rode great. I traded it for a 2011 Tomac Flint 29er. I also put on an Easton EC90 carbon post and Truvativ Stylo 1.1 GXP cranks. The new parts and the new frame saved me about 3lbs. I do believe that'll be noticeable, and hopefully, the ride of this aluminum frame will be as comfortable as I'd like. Fingers crossed.

The Flint uses AN6 aluminum and has a custom butted main triangle to save weight and to yeild a more supple ride.

It also comes with 3 bottle mounts. Better yet, is that the large frame gives me enough clearance that I can go back to running my flask!
The sweet Bushnell bottom bracket lets me use this sucker as a geared or single speed. SS please.
I'm looking forward to getting out on it. Too bad for my bum ankle, though, as I'm more excited about the new SS than my cankle!

more Tomac 2010

Clark from Tomac stopped by the other day to show off some 2010 Tomac Bikes goodies.
So far, I'm pretty impressed with the 2010 lineup. All they have right now is some pre production prototypes so I didn't take super detailed shots of everything as a few things are changing. I did snap a photo of the new Snyper and of the new Instant Active Suspension (IAS) link, though.

Here's the new Snyper. It's got the same geometry and angles of the current Snyper (yay) but some small tweaks have been made to the front and rear triangle. The front triangle changes to a traditional diamond frame for more water bottle room and a traditional front der mount. The rear triangle loses the carbon flex stay and adds a verticle brace on either side.

Also added is the new IAS link between the rear triangle and the swing link.

The IAS link yields better small bump absorption than the previous carbon flexstay. A quickie ride on the new Snyper felt like the old Snyper, but a bit more buttery. Good call on the IAS guys. Can't wait to see the production models! If you look closely in this last photo, you can see a seatstay bridge has been cut out. Original designs had the bridge but no vertical braces. The addition of the verticle braces yeilded way more stiffness which allowed Tomac to remove the bridge for added tire clearance.

Tomac 2010

Tomac has made a few changes with their 2010 lineup. Here are some of the new things we'll be seeing.

First off, the Tomac Vanish. 160mm of travel, $1600
Revised Tomac Snyper. 140mm travel, $1400
Tomac Flint 29er. $500 frame. SS or gears via a Bushnell eccentric bb.
New Tomac Automatic 120, $1200

No news on the Cortez, Type X, Carbide, or Carbide SL, but we'll keep you posted.

Clark from Tomac Bikes will be here this Sunday to join us on our Big Fall Ride 4. He'll be on his way back from Interbike with the demo rig in tow. I don't think he's going to set up for demos, but he'll have some sweet 2010 bikes for us to peek at!

Tomac Carbide SL, sweet, sweet carbon

Tomacs have finally arrived at the shop!

We just got this black beauty built up for Chris.
Pimpy Chris King wheels, frame, and Magura Durin fork and an otherwise budget friendly build and this bike was at 26lbs. Sweet!
It's good to have Tomac in house and so far, feels like a great fit. We've got a large Snyper 140 frame in stock as well as a complete medium Snyper 140 for demo. Come over and check them out.
