Turner Demo Time!

Howdy Folks. We've got some Turner demo bikes that will be here til Friday. The Demo Trailer will be picking these bikes back up on Friday and heading to the next demo day in Eagle. Don't know what time on Friday they will disappear, so first come first serve. Here's what we've got:

Flux, medium
Sultan - L, XL, XXL
Spot SM, XL

If you want to check out a size that we don't have, the rest of the fleet is currently living at Pedal Pushers down in Golden. Give them a shout, they're a good crew and will be happy to take care of you.

How about some Turner bike bling!

We just finished up this super sweet Turner Flux for our good buddy Dr. Mike.

This 2011 medium Turner Flux started as their "Expert kit," an XT level bike. We made a few changes along the way.

The new Dynasys 10 speed Shimano drivetrain is smooth and good looking as ever.

We upgraded the bars to carbon Race Face Next bars. Also note those pimpin' brakes...

Even though the kit came with Formula RX brakes (which we love) we decided up upgrade to our favorite brake ever, the Formula The One. Even though it's technically a dh oriented brake, it's still lighter than a Magura Marta SL and has more stopping power than anything we've ever used. Win! That's not your everyday rear hub there, either. Powertap SL+ disc baby!
We used one of our favorite front hubs to round out these handbuilt wheels with Mavic 819 hoops. The DT Swiss 240. Even though it's a qr front end, we spec'd it with the 20mm version of the hub. That will allow Mike to run whatever fork he wants down the road. These hubs are easily convertible to 15qr or 20mm.

All done, it's about 26.5 lbs as pictured with the powertap rear hub and no pedals. This Flux will be a great all around, racy, do everything kind of bike. Thanks Mike, hope you love it as much as we do!

Turner Demo recap and new 2010 DHR!!!

Turner Sultan update

Mountain Bike Action magazine finally got hold of the 2009 DW Link Turner Sultan for a review. Check it out here. To say they liked this do it all 29er is an understatement. Tree just got his and Doug's will be here next week. Next delivery is late April/May ish.

With respect to Turner using journal bearings (bushings) over cartridge ball bearings, MBA says, "There must be truth to Turner's bushing tale because his customers are among the roughest of the cross-country/all-mountain set--and none of the one's we've met are whiners."

Turner 08/09 info

Wow, there sure has been a lot of buzz lately about Turner Bikes. In case you haven't heard, David Turner and co have collaborated with legendary modern day suspension guru Dave Weagle for their entire 2009 lineup of bikes. Before I get into that, though, I'd like to note the following pricing for the remainder of Turners '08 stock (based on remaining availability). Now is the time to own a true classic!
Flux - 1400
Spot - 1600
RFX - 1760
Sultan - 1500

On to the 2009 line up! All models will have a 30.9 seatpost (so you can run a Crank Bros Joplin if you want), DW linkage, Turner specific journal bearing pivots, and will be made in the US by Sapa.

I'll start off with the 2009 Turner 5 Spot, since that's the first bike we'll see availability on. Should be here shortly after Interbike (ie by Halloween).

5.5" of travel. 6.7 lbs. Stock colors will be blue streak and iron glimmer. I'm excited about the iron glimmer. They've been doing that as a custome color and it's battleshipoliscious.


One for the lift guys. Bye bye Iron Horse Sunday, hello 2009 Turner DHR. Little links, big travel. 8.3" to be exact. 9.5 lbs, too, so pretty light. Semi gloss black baby.

Flux time. This bike has been one of my all time favorites for a long time. I'm sure the 2009 Turner Flux will keep the flame burning. Fire Engine Red or Stardust Silver. 4" of travel and the bike will retain it's 5.5lb weight.

The 2009 Turner RFX. It's swoopy, but still looks like a Turner. This is Turner's all mountain/light freeride offering at 7.6 lbs and 6.7 inches of travel. The RFX will build into a sweet go anywhere, do anything ride. Gloss white or British Racing Green.

And finally, the 2009 Turner Sultan. Yeehaw, for 2009, the Sultan goes to eleven. Well, not really, but it does go up to 4.7". Still svelte at 6.8lbs, too. This will be a perfect match the the new 120mm Maxle Reba 29er or the Fox F120 29er. Gloss white to match the Fox fork or bronze glimmer.
That's all I know so far, folks. There's still a big buzz online and amongst Turner afficionados so more info should be available soon. I'll keep you posted!

Turner + DW Link = ????

Wow, Turner's completely changed their line. No more 4 bar, all new DW link bikes, across the board. I can't imagine a better riding bike than my Intense (ok, maybe the new Tracer), but the new 5 spot sure has my curiosity piqued.

I've been neglecting to put up some bikes we've done recently. Enjoy.

Mike's Turner RFX turned out great. It was the perfect build for a big travel all arounder mountain bike.

XC bikes don't get to be much sweeter than Andy's full XTR Turner Flux.

Pam's small Turner 5 Spot was a fun one. I wanted to take it to the dirt jumps when I was done building it. Compared to my large, it rode like a bmx bike.

And talk about mac daddy. Rich's Intense 6.6 Slopestyle turned out crazy good beyond all belief. I really liked the blue bits, down to the Goodridge brake hose and the Nokon cable housing.

Flux Time

It's been a while since we've put together a Turner Flux. Lots of Intenses and Turner Spots and Sultans but the Flux hasn't been in the limelight so much lately. Too bad, because the Flux is as fine of a 4" travel machine that you can get. This fully pimped large Flux weight 26.12 lbs with big ol' tires and pedals. Pretty darn sweet. Let this 4" travel beauty saturate your senses.

More machinework. Functional and weight saving, but this baby is still very laterally stiff in the rear.

Spot Time

Todd's new Turner 5 Spot is a beauty. A stealthlike beauty. We opted on this one for the slight upcharge and the rear triangle painted to match.

Along with cool turner only details, like the 1 piece forged rear chainstay yoke.

We laced up some custom Chris King/DT 5.1d wheels for this creation and topped it off with Formulas Oro K24 brake. It's hard to beat that brake for the performance and money.

Cool things

Today was a good day. I love when UPS delivers. First box, a little something from Turner to say thanks for '07. I like mud.

Then, just as I started opening the next bike, a couple of cats from DT Swiss walked in. They new I did a lot with DT, so they stopped by to say hey and to say thanks. I asked for a few stickers for my bench, but they schwagged out some socks instead. Nice ones, too. I was in need for some thicker tall boy socks for winter!

Then back to the package at hand. I hadn't had a chance to play with one of these yet...

Cane Creek partnered with suspensi0n legend Ohlins and they have come up with something very sweet indeed. The Cane Creek Double Barrel. If you are the type that really likes to infinitely fiddle with your eqiupment to get that excruciating perfect feel, this is the shock for you.

It doesn't get much more adjustable than this. Fully seperate adjustable slow speed rebound and compression damping as well as high speed compression and rebound damping. Want to tune out pedal bob? OK. Want it to also feel just right on big drops? No problem. Pretty amazing stuff.
